Learn the Enneagram with others
Days and courses for learning the Enneagram alongside other people – hearing how they actually experience the world, so that you can put this to work in your own life.
Learning the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition is all about conversation. In these courses, you’ll learn by hearing real people describe their lived experience, not by reading descriptions in a book.
Discover Your Enneagram Type
A free afternoon for people who are curious about the Enneagram and would like to discover their type pattern with others, in the tradition of the Narrative Enneagram.
We’ll start together at 14:00, so please come for the start rather than dropping in later.
What happens
We begin with a short introduction to what the Enneagram actually is, and what it isn’t. Then you’ll work through the Enneagram Exploration, which takes about an hour and produces a written report suggesting the types most likely to fit you.
Reading that report alone is one thing. Reading it in a room where you can ask questions, hear how other people responded, and talk through what does and doesn’t land, is a different experience entirely. That’s the part of the afternoon that matters most, and it’s why this is worth doing in person.
You’ll leave with your report and a much clearer sense of whether this is something you want to take further.
What to bring
A laptop, tablet or phone for the exploration itself. Nothing else.
Who it’s for
Anyone curious. No prior knowledge assumed.
What comes next
If you want to go further, Introduction to the Enneagram on 31 October and 1 November goes considerably deeper.

Introduction to the Enneagram
Two days going properly into the nine types, built around panels – people describing their inner experience in their own words, with the threads of similarity and the points of difference drawn out as we go. It is the method the Narrative Tradition was built on, and the part people remember.
This weekend assumes some familiarity with the Enneagram. You don’t need to be certain of your type, but you should know roughly how the system works. The free afternoon in September is one way in. So is the free typing exploration, or any prior reading or course.
Numbers are limited so that everyone can contribute and everyone can be heard.
Practical
Saturday runs 10:30 to 17:30 and Sunday 10:30 to 16:30, with an hour for lunch on both days. We finish earlier on the Sunday so nobody is heading home in the dark – the clocks go back the weekend before. Tea, coffee and refreshments throughout. Lunch isn’t provided – there are plenty of places nearby, or bring something and stay in the room. The conversations over lunch are often the best part of the day.
Booking
Places are refundable up to 14 days before, less a £25 admin fee. After that they can’t be refunded, but you’re welcome to pass your place to someone else at any point – just let me know who’s coming instead.
The Enneagram for Coaches & Therapists
An eight-week online programme for coaches, therapists and practitioners who want to use the Enneagram in their work – properly, and ethically.
This isn’t a lecture series. Each week you learn through the method the Enneagram was designed for: hearing people describe their inner world in their own words, and discovering what that reveals about yours. The programme follows the Narrative Tradition, the same approach taught by Helen Palmer and David Daniels at The Narrative Enneagram, where I trained and certified.
Before you join:
You need to arrive knowing your own type. If you haven’t already done it, that means completing the typing exploration, taking the extended report and sitting down with me for a debrief beforehand – booked separately. This isn’t part of the course, and there’s a reason for that: eight weeks spent learning to work with other people’s patterns is no time to be working out your own.
What it covers
The full session-by-session outline is being finalised and will follow. Broadly, the programme moves through three stages.
Grounding. What the Enneagram is and what it isn’t, why it describes motivation rather than behaviour, the three centres of intelligence, and where the Narrative Tradition comes from. Enough that you can explain it accurately to a client without reaching for a book.
The nine, through panels. The heart of the programme, and the reason it runs live rather than as recordings. You learn to recognise a pattern from the inside – from how someone speaks about their own experience – rather than by matching them against a description.
Grounded in the neuroscience. Running underneath is the Patterns of Developmental Pathways model (PDP), developed by Dan Siegel, David Daniels and the PDP Group, which arrives at the same nine patterns from interpersonal neurobiology rather than from the tradition. I trained with Dan Siegel in this work. For a practitioner it matters twice over: it sharpens what you are actually looking at, and it gives you somewhere to stand when a client or a colleague asks whether any of this is real. There is more on the model here.
Using it in your practice. Your own type and how it shapes the way you work, because your structure is in the room whether you have noticed it or not. Type in the working relationship and where the friction reliably sits. What movement actually looks like. And how to work with someone’s pattern without telling them what they are – which is the part most practitioners get wrong, and the part that does the most damage.
After the programme:
An individual check-in to reflect on what you’ve discovered and talk about where to take it in your own practice.
What’s included
- Eight live sessions of three hours
- A one-to-one call with me before we start
- A one-to-one call afterwards, to talk about applying it in your own practice
- All session recordings
- Workbook and resources
- A private group for the cohort
£200 secures your place, with the balance due by 31 December. If paying in instalments across the autumn would make it easier, say so – that can be arranged.
Who it’s for
Coaches, therapists, facilitators and practitioners who want a working knowledge of the Enneagram they can actually use. Some prior familiarity helps but isn’t required – several people have arrived having read a little and wanting to go properly into it.
What Happens After
Whichever of these you come to, Enneagram Café is where the exploration continues – an ongoing fortnightly community with themed sessions, panels, subtypes, relationship pairings, and whatever the group brings to the table.
There’s no obligation to continue. Most people do.
